How do I stop the rattling?
I have tried everything I can think of without spending any money. I took all of the plastic out of the hatch. I have a 99 integra. I have to 12s, and it sounds bad *** on the inside, but like **** on the outside. Will Dynamat help any? What else can I do to get the rattling to go away. Thanks.
your only choice (that i know of) would be to get some sound deadening/dampening material. dynamat isnt necessarily(sp) your only option though, there are plenty of cheap knock-offs that will do the job just fine at a fraction of the price. just do a google search on "sound deadening"
(but in the meantime..) i suggest heading on over to http://www.b-quiet.com they have some really cheap stuff there (like the b-quiet extreme) and they also have dynamat there if you still wanna go with that. they also have free shipping

First off, find out what exactly is rattling. You don't always need expensive sound deadening. Many rattles come from loose nuts and bolts. Most of the time, a $5 pack of weather stripping will cure the rattles.
good idea, didnt think of that. actually, i shoulda said that cause im having a rattling noise coming from the bottom of my car which i know for a fact is just some loose nuts and bolts, not anything sound deadening material can help with. (unfortunately, im too lazy to correct the problem
)
I'm not sure what is rattling, at first I thought it was the hatch plastic. I took that out and it still rattles. I was going to take the rest of the plastic out, but I don't know how to get it out. The plastic around the lights won't come out. Plus, I'm not sure where all the nuts and bolts in the trunk are. Any ideas?
well, it COULD be the nuts and bolts and stuff, but i doubt it is. if you have 2 12" subs, then you're gonna need to get some sound deadening stuff regardless of how tight you screw everything in. if you line the inside of your car with some brown bread or b-quiet or somethin, then it will help to keep the sound INSIDE your car, so that the nuts and bolts on the OUTSIDE of your car wont rattle. so i would suggest getting some sound deadening stuff first, then see what rattles after you have that installed, cause you're gonna need some regardless.
head on over to b-quiet.com, you can get a trunk kit for like 34 bucks

Pull the panels out of the back, run the engine and crank up the volume and listen for rattles. Usually, you can put pressure on a panel and it'll stop making noise That is the panel(s) you'll have to treat.
Consider Dynamat, Great Stuff, rubber weatherstripping or some kind of shims, silicon adhesive (cuz it's soft), an insulation called "Roxul Safe and Sound" which I've used a lot of, and some time and sweat to track down and eliminate your noise.
