Default running a cut valve cover

i put on a polished and cut valve cover today and was wondering if running a cut valve cover increases risk of damage to any internal components

No not really. Lots of people run cut valve covers for the cam gears with no problems.

I would try to find a used valve cover for a decent price and cut the cam gear covers off and use it for tuning purposes. If you're not tuning, use a regular intact valve cover, unless you simply HAVE to show off your blingin cam gears.

I had a polished & full cut valve cover. It was alittle more noisier than before but...no real problem.

^^^ Just dieing to show the pic werent you?

I have a cut valve cover, but you cannot cut off the entire portion of the cam gear cover of the valve cover off. It will not have any rigidity if you do, you can only do a moon type cut.

Most people will try only to use a cut valve cover when they know they are going to be tuning quite a bit.

I really haven't seen any adverse effects to running them daily, but I myself would try to have a cut one and a non-cut one, just to keep it safe.
