Default Oil Cooler Question

I have noticed that everyone that installs an oil cooler around here seems to use -10an lines. Is there any downside to going to -12 lines? I do not know if people have selected the -10an for a reason, like it has the best compromise between flow and pressure loss or it was just that the parts are a little cheaper. Any downside to using -12 instead?
