has anyone ever tried to spray paint aluminum gsr rims bronze or gunmetal? does it look shitty?

 

a friend painted his gunmetal they looked hott IMO. he did like 18 coats and 7 or clear....he did a nice job

 

my friend did it with his rims too...it looks alright if you do nice clean even layers

 

It will look good if you take your time. I've seen some shity jobs.

 

would you wanna lightly wet sand first?

 

stripped the paint/clear coat frist..if you want it to last that is..go run more search..

 

dont make same as my mistake on my first stock rim yesterday i didnt clean it very well so it was totally missed up. but the other three where good
make sure to clean it very well strip the paint

where did you get that bronze paint??? I've been looking everywhere for that color! I went to every auto parts store there is. Whats the color name?

 

it's called universal gold, it's gold but what i did was mixing it with gunmetal paint, i used some flake for the sparky effect which i cant even see(only work in darker color i guess). you can even see the lip there too..

 

do you have any closer pics of the rims? And when you mixed the paint, how did you paint them onto the rim? Did you paint them using a bursh or what? And when you mixed the paint, how much of each color did you use?

 

does anyone know where to get that paint? I know its mixed but does anyone know if they sell that color as a spraypaint?

 

my friend got the duplicolor spray from kragen... he sprayed his enkeis gunmetal... then changed them to gold

how did that turn out? Did they look like a dark bronze or just gold?

ever see a homo use 2 cans of differnt color spray cans at the same time?
They are not very bronze, i cant get the greenism color in bronze.

HAHAHA!! So all you did was use two spray cans at the same time? What do you mean you can't get the greenism color? Sorry for asking all these questions but I don't want to make a miskate when I paint my rims.
