ok, lately whenever i'm stopped at a light or a stop sign, after about 10 seconds, there starts to be a really bad rattle... whenever i let off the brake it stops... i've been running the a/c more lately and don't know if that would have anything to do with it... so what could this be... i wanted to ask here first to see if it is anything i can fix myself without taking it to a mechanic...

no, the car doesn't shake or anything, and when i'm actually braking, it's just when i'm stopped and holding on the brake...

 

First off check it with your a/c on/off. Also where is the rattle coming from?

 

ok... yesterday i had my a/c on, but when it started i turned it off and it stopped rattling, then i tried it again and it did the same thing... the noise is coming from the passenger side fender/engine bay area... could my alternator be going out, it kinda makes a noise like when you don't give it enough gas but when i turn off the a/c or give it some gas, it stops the noise... what do you guys think...

 

probably just something rattling when the revs drop......

my exhuast rests on my bumper and when the revs drop at idle it rattles for a second.
