hi,

may be a noob question, but thatīs exactly what i am

What exactly is unsprung weight (=which parts) and why is it quite important to reduce it?

a drop in unsprung weight is usually better than a drop in sprung weight.

Unsprung weight can also be thoughto of as parts that move with the suspension...

Lowering the weight of these parts will increase the responsiveness and sensitivity of you suspension system. Usually, feel and handling are increased when unsrung weight is lowered.

I can go more in depth, but I don't wanna bore anyone...

and then there is rolling resistence in the wheels as well...or rotating mass...
