Yup my !994 Acura Integra GS-R is no longer under my possesion. It all happened like this: My friends and i from the crew decided to go see "The Fast and the Furious" at Winnetka Theaters in Chatsworth. Pretty nice neighborhood compared to others in the same valley. The movie started at 8:40 pm. We got there at 7:30, we had 5 cars from the crew that night. We got there early for two reasons, to get descent seats to accomadate 19 people and to make it for our interviews with CBS news. We finished our interviews at 8:00 and headed inside. We were outside by 10:30. As we make it to our parking spots I notice my car is hard to see. I figure the big truck was blocking my view of my car. I get closer and still no car. I tell myself," I know I parked next to Robert." My heart drops, I start shaking, some of my friends still dont realize what has happened. I whisper to myself," I can't believe this is happening." I do not know how I did it but I keep myself from going insane in that moment. I call the police station right away...it's busy!! I talk to security and they haven't seen anything all night and they always get cars stolen from them without their knowing. Good Job Fellas!! A couple of my friends leave looking for my car. The rest of us go to the police station. I stand there waiting to make the report for about 30 minutes. We finally make the report, the officer tell dispatch, and we leave. We have a late dinner at Denny's, and I'm still in denial. I just couldn't believe my car was being raped and destroyed for perhaps only the motor. What i would give to catch those thieves in the act. I would have cut off all of their fingers so would never have a five-finger discount ever again!! I wish I could say I'll be fine but most likely I wont. I had insurance, liability only. I couldn't afford full coverage, my insurance company wanted $1500 down, and it was $3100 a year. Being that I have been out of a job half the time since I got my car makes it even harder. I paid for the car by cash advance with a credit card, so I cant call the CC company and say that the car has been stolen and delete my debt. I still owe about $7000. I still have to pay for that, get another car ASAP because i drive about 120 miles a day to get to work and other errands. I start school next fall and one class is costing me $1000. i know your pain, my 95 gsr-turbo was stolen one week after the boost was put in, i only had liability also, cause full coverage was like $7000, hhhhmmmmmm, i'm thinking full coverage or turbo......i made the wrong choice and am still paying for it in more ways than you can believe. anyways good luck the next project

But my question is, why are you and your crew taking your Honda's to the mall? Especially going into the movies for 2 hours and not thinking about your cars out there???? Seriously, no such thing as a nice neighborhood...

have a little sympathy for the him,(INDY) that is the dumbest thing to ask, (why did you bring your car to the movies). he did, and thats what happened, i'm pretty sure he (GSpeedR) doesn't need another lecture.


how would you feel if you lost all that time and money???think about it for a minute, what if you went outside right now and your car was gone, would want some ***** saying"why did you leave your car there?" i really don't think so,

Dude relax! I have been there ok?? I found 14 year old punk *** kids wrecking my ride and I chased them all over the mall.
Then a few months later the cops call me at 4Am and told me to come outside the house only to see my car on cinder blocks raped.
I had over $4000 worth of damage in less than 6 months on a brand new car.
I just dont want to hear stories of stolen Tegs, its sad and I hate to hear things like that happen.
So perhaps I am sorta like a parent when I yell a bit its only cause I want to prevent before the aftermath.
If you look on my post on the ITR section, you will see I followed flatbed truck for miles trying to get info on the truck that had a PY ITR on it trying to help out a fellow owner....

When I went to see F&F last night, I made my cousin come down to my place so we could take his POS to the movies.... faded grey 1985 Dodge Mini Ram-Caravan thingy. It's got a raised roof, cabinets, huge swivel chair in the middle with a bubble on top. It was a former work van for a telephone company. It's pretty funny looking, but it works. Some riceboys chuckled when we walked towards it, but hey at least my car was safe at home. Ironically, these were the same clowns acting stupid in the parking lot after the movie let out.

I feel for you man. I hope it all works out.

And to all those who haven't seen The Fast and the Furious yet, LEAVE YOUR CAR AT HOME!!!!! Get someone who has a $hitbox to drive so you won't have to worry about walking back to an empty parking spot.

 

Sorry to hear about your loss. I hate people like that. I didn't drive to F and the F for that reason, I rode with friends. I mean think about it, if you was an Domestic (Domesuck) lover and hated Imports, where would you be. Point proven. All ya can do is put the past behind you because that is where it will stay and just make you next car faster.

I know exactly how you feel cause my BRAND NEW '01 GSR got stolen about 3 weeks ago in front of my house.. I was terrified..I only had it for 2 months too.

But now everything is settled and I pick up my new 01 vogue silver GSR tomorrow night baby..
I can't wait, but you gotta hang in there, at least it wasnt NEW like mine, you would feel awful for weeks...

It sucks to hear news like this. I was paranoid as hell when I took my car to the movies to see F&F. I went to galaxy where they have underground parking at least. I was sooo paranoid, I took my DEI chip thing out, which I rarely do. I figure if they get past the alarm, that may stall them for a minute.

 

WOW.....that really sucks.. ..i hope that one day you'll be able to recover and build a new ride.......

On the other hand...with all the stealing and vandalizim going on during the F&F......wouldn't it of been kewl if they showed it at a drive-in theater. That way you could enjoy the movie in your GSR/ITR/Hybrid and not have to worry about her getting jacked.

 

Jeez. I'll just wait for F&F on video or DVD.

Stolen cars are a touchy subject. No matter where you live or where you take your car, you are always at risk. Have CRAZZY security and that sometimes doens't help either. I dont' drive my car anywhere, because I can't afford to loose it. But if you do leave it anywhere, be really carefull and have your security set.
I am really sorry to hear your loss, I really hope that you get your car back with no or minor damage.

hondas + malls = a very upset owner.

i made the mistake a long while ago and my car got broken into.
i always hitch a ride to the mall in my friends cars or take my moms exploder or i just wont go at all.

They were playing it at the drive-in here in Ohio. One of the few around that I know of. I didn't want to bother with the crappy audio, so we went to a nice Regal, and had the luxury of Dolby. I also didn't drive... mainly because I had rode my bike to work that day, and friends picked me up from work to go to the movie. I'm so smart I don't even know it.

Anyhow... this kind of thing really ruins the fun of fixing up cars all together. I mean, you do work to a car, and it's really not worth it to me, to stress about it ALL the time. Worried if it's going to get dinged, scratched, hit, stollen, broken into, etc. I've given up on parking further out in the parking lots, watching wear I park... it still doesn't work. You park a quarter mile from everyone else... and who parks RIGHT BESIDE you... some moron that hits your car when they open the door. WTF there was 400 yards of empty parking lot and you park right on top of me? Agh... such things keep me in BFE where I am. Hell I leave my car unlocked at night. Now that's reasurring... no need for an alarm out here. I work in one town and live in another 30 miles away. But yet if my car was broken into or stollen. I'd probably KNOW who or where it was within a few hours. So my friends... when you feel you can't take anymore... get the hell out of Dodge, and get your butt to a small town. It's worth the extra 30 minute drive to the mall for me.

Oh yeah... tuff luck about the car man! I hope you get it back...

well the reason I took my car is because CBS News wanted my friends and i to take our cars, so we did. Otherwise I would've gone in another car. Security system...ummmm...that was my mistake, was going to buy one tomorrow but now I am not. i just bought a bucket to get me to work today, a 1988 VW Fox...I am so deppressed right now. At least the car has A/C. I'm getting another job cuz I want to pay off the GS-R I dont have as soon as possible. And I'm aiming towards a Twin Turbo Toyota Supra or the Acura RSX Type-R (if it comes out fall 2002). But no matter what condition I get the GS-R I am going to rebuild it, chop it in half and slap on a JDM 98 Spec Integra Type R front-end. i get the hook ups so its not going to cost me much. But "Black Destiny" (that's what I called my GS-R cuz she kinda had bad luck) will be back and faster than ever!!! I just keep telling myself that this was a hard lesson and well I learned it pretty well. That's why on all my hooked up cars I'm gonna make a switch between the motor and ECU. Or I'll just carry the ECu around all the time. Thanks for your sempathy and support though. LATES.
