New floorboards, a concern, or a go?
I might be going to look at a 1988 CRX with 188,000kms that has new floorboards and rocker panels. The question is this; do I want a CRX with replaced floorboards? I'm scared that they will start to rust in a year or so and i'll have to redo them once again. He (or the shop, not sure) cut out the floorboards, welded new metal in, prepped, and painted the area.
What are your opinions on this, would you buy a car with the floorboards replaced, or no? Please include your reasons as to why or why not, thank you!

It all depends on how well the procedure was done. I'd have a good look at the floors and possibly take it to a shop for inspection before purchasing. But, if the job is done well, it should be as strong as the factory metal and just as resistant to rust. Make sure that any seams are sealed with seam sealer, and that the floor has been painted in addition to undercoated.
Ya i'll most likely get it inspected before buying, I hope whoever did the job did a good one.
Anyone else have any comments on this?

Did the floorboards fall off like in Fast and Furious? hehe j/k
Anyways just make sure its painted good and you shouldny have to worry about the rust... i would check the whole car for rust. I think the rear quarter panel is a good place to start.
