BUELL-american bikes
yeah, ive heard of them, saw a bunch of them, but never had the chance to ride it. I heard its basically a harley, or is connected to harley or something in that line. I like naked bikes, so its something id want to ride once in my life time.

as far as i know, the achilles heel of the firebolt is in fact the engine, becuase its an air cooled harley engine block.
i believe harley bailed buell out at some point and owns a majority of the company now, meaning poor buell will be stuck with antiquated air cooled engines until the liquid-cooled v-rod DOHC motor expands out to other bikes.
as someone who has studied a bit of engine theory, i shake my head in disbelief at how much money people pay to put some things between their legs, just cause it goes "potato potato potato"

A good friend of my works for Buell. He actually designed a good chunk of the fuel and oil system for the firebolt.
Any Buell pre late-1999/early-2000 is a disaster waiting to happen. Anything newer is fickle. The firebolt is head and shoulders above the rest of them from both a design standpoint and reliability.
It's far from the most efficent bike in the world, but has a barrel full of torque. It's not really designed for a small person in mind either.
I haven't heard of any cooling issues with the firebolts, even though it's "air" cooled (oil cooled technically. It has a snazzy oil cooler). Buell does the majority of their long term testing during the day in arizona, which isn't the most temperate of places.
