when i go into 3rd gear it always grinds a little. it only seams to do it when the engine is hot. so what is the problom? all the other gears are fine. but every once in a while i have a little trouble w/ 2nd gear too?

 

from what you described it sounds like the 2nd+3rd gear syncros are going bad. I have the same problem in my 91STD. from what I have heard 3rd is almost always the first to go in any manual. good luck.

 

my second and thrid gear synchros are gone. just gotta get used to it and its good

 

same problem here...don't know much about that stuff though. Is it fixable or just get another tranny?
If I drive it like that..it won't leave me walking at some point??
