OT: Any new Black ITR's left in America?
I'm looking for a new black ITR and would like to get a new black ITR. I wrecked my GSR so I am looking for something very soon. Also, do you think the dealer localy here will ship the ITR from another location? I'm sure he'll do it for a fee. Thanks alot and I'm going to be doing alot of research and calling this weekend, it would just save me some time if you guys know off hand. Thanks.

It's going to be really hard to find a new one. I know when I was looking for my yellow one a month ago, I called almost 75 dealerships and only found three. The way to do it though, is to search on like Yahoo or something, and look up acura dealerhips. Most Dealer's websites are the same general coorperate Acura layout. You can search their new car inventory, and you possibly may find a black ITR. As far as dealer shipping...it won't happen. I tried to get my local dealer to get the car from DE and DE refused to deal with them. No trading cars or anything. I got a private company to ship it for $675. That's from DE to Nashville, TN. BTW, Good Luck!
I found one for you. Ardmore Acura in Ardmore, PA. 610-896-8600.

There are none within 500 miles of Seattle, WA.
RSX is out July 2nd(?)
I sold my 00 R to a dealer who couldnt source a new 01 for a customer.
They marked it to 23,500 and had it sold before they bought the ITR from me.
There should be a few nice 00-01 FPB ITR's showing up over the next 6-12 months - be patient and keep your eyes open.

Mine is 2 months old and I would probably have had a little trouble finding it if, I hadn't already done business with my dealership, Oh, and if it wasn't sitting on the showroom floor!

Well had the local dealership do a Eastern America search and not a single Type R in stock, now I just need to call Middle, and West Coast. Damn good thing I am calling from my work phone....

Apparently they were hoping to get more than sticker price for that car. Oh yea if you're hoping to finance the car with an outside financing company you're SOL.
I think this depends on which dealer you go to, but the ones I've been to were willing to grab a R from another dealer provided that you wouldn't mind waiting for the car and took care of financing insurance taxes etc beforehand.
Just got off the phone with Ardmore Acura in Pennsylvania, they do have one with 231 miles on it (I hope they were not 231 abused miles). Now to figure out how to get it down to south florida. I have the local dealer ship here in south florida working on it. See what then can do. If they can't do anything, then it looks like I'm going to have to take a business trip out to PA and have a little road trip on the way home. Anybody know the millage from PA to south florida? Guess its a good time to break it in.
Anybody live out there that can take a look at it for me and tell me if it is in good condition, no dings, rock chips or anything like that. Thanks alot and I would never have found one with out the list. Thanks again.

They have one at Stevens Creek Acura. However, do NOT buy it!!!!!!!!
That car is really fu@ked up!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They will say its ok, however my inside sources say otherwise. They told me to never let anyone I knew buy that R.
Here's a semi-list of the problems that you can't see:
-car was hit with minor body damage and some body parts were fixed and repainted.
-old owner try to paint the rear tails black and screwed up. So they had to get new tail lights. Also their is black sray paint marks on the rear from the stupid paint job.
-Bad underbody scrapes
-Rebuilt engine. Acura forgot to fill the car up with oil one time and busted the engine. Engine was rebuilt and refurbished by Acura, however the VIN numbers do not all match.
Plus many other little details.
From a first look, the R appears to be perfect and run fine however thats not exactly true. They are asking over 20g for it and saying that its in good condition. hahahahahaha R lovers beware of this beast! However I guess it would make a fu track car of race car if they dropped the price to what it should be.

I have a pic somewhere of the car if you'd like to see it. The rear seats were still covered with plastic and the Type R mats were in place (unlike the one I got with missing mats). New car smell. Etc. No exterior damage. This was three months ago so perhaps things may have changed. Btw Ardmore is right outside Philadelphia. I presume you would have to take I-95 all the way down.
Damn....good thing i read this post.....my dealer showed me that car...it was fuked up....i saw that damn thing......it was on the lift and the new block was on the floor.....i was really thinking about buying that thing cause i cant find any other R.....thanks for the warning......
Hey RedBlues, thanks alot. I just got off the phone with my local dealer and they said they dont have a problem shipping the car down, however, I'm going to have to buy the car up front with out looking at it. The thing I am woried about is if I get the car and its all beat up. What do you guys think? I would have to pay the list price plus shipping and dealer fees. Thanks for the help.

are they flatbedding the car or are they having one of the typical older gentlemen drive it down.
Boba- who would defintely request a flatbed.

Hmm don't know. I guess that would be a good question to ask. If they dont flat bed it, then screw it, I'm going to fly up there and drive it back myself. I'm just wondering why it allready has 230 miles on it. If you think about it, a test drive is what like 5 miles? Why did so many people test drive this one and never buy it? Oh well, I guess I should not complain since it is one of the last ones left and all. I just hope its not a lemon. I wonder if the florida lemon law applies since I bought it in south florida, but had it shipped from another state. This still might not happen if the damn insurance company does not get back soon enough or if they dont total the car.

My suggestion is to buy a round trip plane ticket to buy it...
Deal for the car beforehand...get a loan with money in hand to go see it. If it's F'd up or doesn't seem to be what you expected...that's why you have a round trip ticket.
That's what I did.
But my R only had like 11 miles on it.

Yea I was looking at that, its like 200 bux for a round trip ticket. But since you did buy it, did you buy it and then drive it back or did you have it shipped? I think I might end up doing that, cause I realy, realy dont like buying a car with out looking at it first and with out even talking about the price at all. I mean what if the car is shipped missing some items? The local dealership is just going to say, oh well you need to deal with the dealer you got it from. Damnit, why can't there be one local... Well I guess now it is just a waiting game for the insurance company to come back to me and let me know what is going on.

I dealed with them over the phone...I got a loan for the amount, then got a plane ticket (ROUND TRIP, not one-way). I flew out there and bought it. Drove it back 1200 miles.
The thing is, if it wasn't what I had hoped for or expected, I would've flew back and said the hell with it.
