First off very nice forum, Id like to make my first post here.

My moter is burning oil, but in a weird way...
When the car is driven it burns cleen with little or no visble smoke. BUT if the moter sits at idle for five-ten min, it blows alot of smoke when acellerated and opened up. It stops smoking after a couple redlines or mins of driving. Its not going through alot of oil and gennerly it runs great.

Any knowlege would greatly help.

What motor? What car? and how many miles?

My suggestion would to get a compression check.

 

The moter is 98 b18c1 usdm gsr/Del Sol.
About 50-70km
Compression was ok through 1-4.
It might be somthing to do with the valves, but Im not quite sure what it is.
IF I send the head in for a valve job , I want to be sure Im fixing the right thing.

 

my hatch did the same damn thing....... never really messed with it.. just kept putting oil in it.. then i was going about 75 down the highway and i lost 2 cylinders... 0 compression... it sucked...
car had 130k on it though :/
