go for b16 or b18a1, relatively cheap with a bit of a kick........

 

i got a flat tire today and had to change that **** in the pouring rain...

Sucks man. I would personally go b18b instead of the d16y8, you'll love the extra torque. Oh yeah, it might be the worst day of your life today, but it usually gets worse before it gets better (at least for me)

 

**** Happens... but i feel sorry for you. go with a B18c5

 

Bummer Out of those two motors the b18b will give you more torque.

 

b18b with over bored pistons will give more force off the line and its worth it too

honda is not known for torque

 

Thanks for all the support and ideas... it seems only you guys and my girls family gives a **** about my car.... depending on pricing... I may go B18B.... I got quoted 2500 for a full B16A swap from a 99-00 Si. Is that a decent price?

 

Its ok. Just be sure to check the mileage on the motor.

HMO has the b-16 a2 for 2350 plus S&h, just for your info.

 

Not really, you can a b16a sir2 with 10.4:1 CR for about 1800 @ hmotorsonline, but thats just the ecu, motor and tranny. Sorry to hear about ur loss, and ur dad. Keep ur chin up.

 

1850 is just the motor, isnt it? 2350 is complete swap.

This will be a good lesson in how expensive it is to be faster. That sucks about your motor tearing up, if I lived closer I would help you take it apart just to see what it is.

 

Good luck with whatever you plan to do...Id stay D series becuase parts are much cheaper, and if money is an issue, you may want to think about that!

 

sorry to hear about your loss, i have had an interesting week myself... i'd say find out whats wrong with your engine first, if its smll, fix it, if its big get another d-series for free basically, nobody seems to want them, and put a turbo in for 1500$. you can keep your ecu and tranny that way, plus you can get alot of power. my .02.... my opinion about engines changes everyday

Damn that sux man, it's alright, keep your head up. My motor blew a few months back, just when I thought everything was going good and I had a little stash I had been saving on for a swap, **** happens. I almost felt like crying, thinking that **** could only happen to me. Keep your head up though, I busted my *** working only to get a quick replacement, since I needed my wheels ASAP to get to work, now I'm back to saving up again, hopefully nothing stupid happens. 4 u

 

Go with the B18. I loved the torque my Integra used to have, it makes my Si feel like **** below 4500.

Sounds like someone forgot to take off the old oil filter gasket when they did the oil change. It would have been able to leak out that fast. Take a look and see if there are two gaskets on there. If so, take it back to where you got the oil changed and make them get you a new engine.

 

sorry to hear that man. that happened to my friend, dumbass popped it into 2nd going 70 and broke a piston. OIL everywhere. it looked like the car was bleeding. get the b18c. i hope u get bak on track bro.
