How much is this car worth?
I am seriously looking at buying a hatch, 96 or newer. The one I am looking at is a 1996 honda civic cx. The body of the car is mint and has 93k. The engine is a 1997 usdm gsr swap w 50k miles. the car has the following mods:
1997 gsr swap, act clutch, lightened flywheel, intake, header, exhaust. As for the body, it is completely shaved, and has a kit,a fiber images carbon fiber hood, and projector headlights, and 16" black jdm style rims. The car also has a new paint job. My question is, how much is to much for this car? I really want it, but need to get an idea of how much it is worth. Thanks in advance James

I can't really give you a guess, but watch buying modified cars because they most likley have been beaten and raced already. Make sure you know the condition first, good luck!
yeah, I mean the car is extremely nice. Yeah I am not a fan of body kits either, but this one is really clean and is not crazy. I realize that the car may have been beaten, but just taken into account the condition of the car, I am thinking that the owner took very good care of it. The kid is asking 10,000 and says he is pretty firm. I would like to give him 9grand. If I do buy this car, is there any thing that I should look for specifically? Oh yeah the gsr swap is a hydro tranny, I am not used to the hydro tranny, as my b16 is cable. The clutch grabs as soon as it is off the floor no grinds or anything. Is this normal for a hydro tranny w/act clutch and lightened flywheel. What type of compression can I expect to get from all 4cyl's.

depends on area and how much good you much you want to pay for a car with aftermarket parts you didnt have put it in yourself.
I would go ~ 7500.

it really depends on were you live. This kid in my town bought a 91 accord with all of the ugly body kit and what not on it, not to mention the factory motor that was nearly stock with 200,000+ miles on it for 6,000! yes, that's right, 6k, just because it was painted bright orange, and had a 3 foot high spoiler on it..
the sad truth is that cars with all of those exterior mods done to them tend to get much more than the ones without, so I bet whomever is selling the car with ask more than its worth.

Here in Cali it's hard to sell those really flashy cars. Everyone typically wants something done clean or a usually a virgin car. There are cars that do sell here, but it's the selected crowd and where you try to sell it. I would pay aroung 7000 to 8000 for that car if everything was really clean. The only thing that would be a downside is the shaving, but it sounds clean and the swap is from a newer year and it's way better if it's legit.
