skunk2 coilovers, am I missing something?
Hey guys, I need a bit o help.
I was just given a set of skunk2 coilover/springs... and I would like to use them, seeing as how they are a higher spring rate than my current eibachs. BUT...
I think that I dont have all of the parts. all that I have per corner is:
one threaded sleeve, two jam nuts, and a spring. but I feel that there should be something else involved, due to the fact that the springs wont even reach the tophats, and it seems strange that there is nothing to keep the threaded sleeve centered.
I am trying to use them on Illuminas BTW.
any help would be GREATLY appreciated....

well you'll need rubber rings to keep them centered around the strut. As for the height, they'll hit the top cap when you lower your car (welcome to the world of spring pops) have fun going up drive ways. when you lower the car make sure they get seated into the hats.
rubber rings eh? like an o-ring?
ALSO, does anybody know how to tell what springrate these springs are? one set ends in .006 and the other ends in .008....
are these 600lb and 800lb?
thanks.

i dont really remember what the skunk2 coilovers look like but you can allways take them apart and just use the springs.( i would only do this if you got them for free)
nah, they are too short to do that... thanks though.
well, I found out how to read the spring rates. the .xxx number is in kilograms.
and aparently what I am missing is the o-rings that keep the sleeve from rattling.
thanks anyways guys.

if your missing o rings just goto a hardware store and get some more...on coiover kits the o rings arent nothin fancy, just make sure they are snug and centered on the shock.

It's just a black rubber ring that goes around the shock.
