Default different thought on battery relocation.

i know many people put the battery in the trunk, but that leads to many problems such as a kill switch and a sealed battery. I was thinking about moving my battery to the lower front cross member. (infront of the timing belt.) there seems to be enough room there for the stock battery, or even a slightly smaller battery (still a car battery)

I am moving my bettery to make room for the turbo piping. this would allow me to use an unsealed battery and no kill switch while making it fairly easy to access and put in.

ive heard of this done before and was thinking about doing it myself...but have never seen a picture. some say its dangerous, like your battery will explode in an impact. no sure though.....

I've been looking at this as well for the same reason

For autocross it's pretty simple and that it just needs to be in a marine approved battery box.

Since you mentioned the switch I'm assuming you are looking at the NHRA rules and they are brutal and slightly misleading.

It says that the box must be sealed and vented to the outside?! If it's vented it is in no way sealed. The master switch also cannot be "keyed" so you can lock it so I anyone could come up and shut off my battery.

In asking a few other people they have brough up cars which came witht he battery in the back from the factory and the ruling on those.
