Caliper piston problem?
OK, heres the situation. Had SERIOUS shaking problems when braking after really hard driving. Shook so bad I could hardly hold the steering wheel, and Im not really exaggerating.
At that time, I was on OEM rotors/pads, about 34K on the clock. Car went into the shop, got lots of work done, and decided to do the rotors and pads while it was in there. Put on Spoon rotors in the front, and powerCrap in the rear with Green stuff pads. Under normal driving, brakes are like butter so I though they were fine now.
But just recently have been able to drive the car harder and heat the brakes up, and noticed is seems to be doing the same crap. Mechanic told me it could be a problem with the pistons in the calipers. So I actually picked up another set of ITR calipers for cheap, but wanted to get a second opinion from you guys before going through a caliper install. Thx

If it is when pushing the brakes only and coming from high speeds it is likely material transfer form the brake pads not the rotors. This is fairly normal. Try a different pad if it gets too bad. Never heard of this being a piston issue but to swap them out doesn't take but 20 minutes and a 14mm and 17mm socket.
yeah i just swapped my calipers the other day.. it was cake... just be sure to have a rag handy to wipe up the dripping brake fluid
and if you think swapping calipers will solve the problem whtdc2, i have my old working set. btw, i was in melbourne in december

It may be that you are pushing the limits of any pad. a 100 mph slow down to 65 mph will do a shudder in the brakes most any time. I don't noticen it on the track but I down stop on the road liek I do on the track. You brake slower on the road building more heat. I've never used EBC and won't. Try calling Andie at Cobalt. Tell him Trey Sent you. You might try Axxis Ultimates or Cobalt GT SPorts if you don't mind dust.
Explain your woes to Andie he knows more than most of us put together when it comes to brakes.
