Default I need some B16 info

What is the difference between the 88-91 B16's and the 92 and up B16's? I have heard a rumor that alot of people had problems with the first generation B16's, is there any truth to this? Im planning to put a b16 into a 89 crx dx. Anyone have any recommendations? What is the best tranny to use? best ecu?

thanks

Um the newer b16's come with hydro trans and are obd1, also the newer b16's have more agressive cams. I have a first generation b16 and I have not had a problem with it yet.

88-91 b16 OBD0.

92-95 b16 SIR II JDM OBD1.

First gen b16s don't have any problems.

Go with the First Gen b16a with a JDM YS1 tranny if you can find it and PR3 ecu would be fine.

your car 89 DX will need to be converted to MPFI and run proper vtec wires....

thats all I can think of about now..

hope this gives you an idea of what you will have to do...

How do i convert to MPFI and how difficult is it to run the vtec wires?
Would I be better off going with a ZC swap?
I was looking to keep the car naturally aspirated.
I want to keep it reliable also.
Any suggestions?

thanks

Even w/the ZC u need to switch to mpfi. U have dpfi and u have to put a relay to run 4 injectors instead of running 2, and wiring vtec isnt that hard if u have a knowledge of basic electronics and can read a wiring diagram. U have 2 use a mount kit 4 bseries as well in your car-For the b16's-OBDO b16s produce 10 less HP then OBD1 but the OBDO is easier 2 swap in to your car--IF you a want step by step diagram to swap in either a b16 or ZC...hit me up and Ill get them 2 u, just letme know which way your considering to go, I recommend VTEC

I would use the OBDO if i went the way of a b16...
I was wondering if you would be willing to send me both step by step diagrams...
that way i can make a better educated decision...
i'll email you to make sure u get this.....

thanks
