ok. i've had the coilovers for about 3 weeks on my 03 Si. Ever since i had them on, everytime i turn my wheels (on to drive way, or making U turn) they're making this twisting noise. it sounds like the springs are being twisted, and it's making the clanking noise. does anyone know what's causing them and how to fix it? also, is that a common problem with the new Si and Skunk2 coilovers?

 

the same thing happens on my brothers 02 civic. I think its cause the springs just turn. I dont know, but ive noticed though, that when we try to fix it, its not that bad, meaning its not so loud. Then when he hits a big bump the noise starts to get louder. Im still trying to fix the problem also.

 

Alot of people with coilovers on the newer civics run into this problem...

Solution: Get in there and use GREASE, GREASE, and more GREASE...
This has solved the problem for ep owners 99.9% of the time.

P.S. Don't forget the obvious thing of making sure everything is seated properly.

Grease up the front top hats real well with white lithium grease. That should solve your spring noise problem up front.

PS: It's not just adjustable springs that make this noise. Anything other then the stock springs make this noise. If you don't believe me go check out the hundreds of post over at clubrsx...late
