Default Shielded wires.

When you guys wired your vtec spool solenoid and oil pressure sensor, did you use 18 guage shielded wire? I didnt use shielded, I know what shielding does, I'm just wondering if you think its worth redoing it with shielded?

My car didn't run properly for over a year after I got my swap because the wires by the ECU weren't shelided properly.

I'd do it right if it were me.

care to expand on that? what was the problem with your car. the only wires that are shielded from the factory are the vtec solenoid and oil p.

well as far as "stock" is concerned, i believe you have it backwards. spool and oil pres do not use shielded. however, the o2 sensor and knock sensor technically use shielded. personally i didnt use shielded on any of my swap, and it runs perfect. also, out of ALL of the b16 swaps out there, i bet only 5% or less use shielded, just because they dont know any better. lucky for them it isnt really crucial. its really not necessary on our cars.

Sheilded for what purposes? Preventing electronic interference?
