Default Give up on Del Sol and start with a 92-95 hatch?

Im starting to loose hope in my Del Sol. Im getting pissed off due to its flexing chasis and heavy weight. But its a great car, handles good and runs 15@90mph with out me modifying the motor. The thing is I can get a CX for about $1000. Should I get it and be done with the Sol? I just feel like the flex and weight is going to limit me once I modify the motor.

I know you are only looking for advice on this but you should definitely make sure you think this through and do what you want, not necissarily what the members on this board would do.

That said, sell the del sol and snag the CX. $1000 is a bangin price if its in good condition, and you have some decent cash left over from the del sol.

yeah anyone of us here would get that $1000 cx pronto. However, make sure the cx checks out before jumping ship. Seems too cheap to be true unless it's just the shell.

It my friends car, not running, but I know whats wrong with it, easy fix has dents everywhere though, but i dont care about looks.
If I do buy the hatch Ill keep the Sol so I have something to drive when I work on the car.

I was reading another thread in the crx/ef
forum https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=443490
Is this true? Cant swap in a DOHC if your car came with a SOHC? This started for this year only, so cars who got BAR stickers before this year are legal? If so then I will stick with the Del Sol since mine came with a B16.
Anyone confirm this yet?

its kinda werid that ur asking for thoguhts, imo you can takk other peoples advice, but make sure you get what you likk. dont try to impress others. there are people i kno that do that, but they arent satisfied, in my oppinion go with whatever makks u happy, cuz its your car your life, n your money. my brotehr has a delsol and i have a hatch. personally i love my hatchback to death and wouldnt sell it for any other car, even for any rhd cars or anything. it has to be what you likk. my car is my passion and its what i love, i dont give a f&kk if other people dont likk it cuz there not the one thats driving it, hopefully this will give u a better insight on things

Did I read you wrong, or are you saying i made this thread to impress people? Im not trying to impress ****. This hatch is a piece of ****, faided paint, dents everywhere, windows dont even rolll down. **** my Del sol has 3/4 new paint due to an accident, and 1/4 looks pink from the old red paint. I came here looking for advise cause I cant make up my mind. Dont even think Im a noob cause I have been here longer than you and my post count is low cause i rarely need help on things.
Anyway if i did read it wrong regard the garbage i just said.

Back to the subject. I have driven a hatch with the same things my del sol has and feels way better in a straight line and at the corners. Oviously the hatch is better, but like the other guy said, its hard giving up on your car. Thats why I cant decide.

Well the deciding factor to this will be the BAR sticker I need to lagalize a B series into the hatch. If not then i wont get the hatch. So if anyone knows if we can still get a ref to lagalize swaps let me know.

What you talking about dude? I have a del sol and it's really not heavy, and it don't flexes that bad, it's pretty good in corners, honestly the del sol chassis is the same as the civic. So why bother spending all that time and money to do the same thing again. And trust me in the summer you'll miss your sol!

I wouldnt trade it basically because the del sol has somewhat of some style. Though the hatchbacks can be faster they still look like lil mini vans. Not flaming just givin my .02

I'd buy the hatch and keep the Sol. Turn the hatch into a project, and have the Sol as a nice daily.

why drop a type R?? B18C1 and a B18 Type R Motor only has 10 HSPW difference....... and the type R motor has higher compression.. (that is how they got the extra 10) that hurts you if you want to run boost... IMO you could get more out of a GSR Set-UP......

Not going to go into the reasons why a GSR motor and ITR are alot more different then "just 10 hp" (Which BTW there is actually 25 hp diff), gearing, LSD, cams, etc.

If he's going NA a ITR motor is a great base. GSR motors are good if you may go NA or FI (Not that you can't FI a ITR motor).

Hatches don't look like mini vans (Unless is the 03 SI )

Well..... can anyone tell me how mutch more´the Del Sol weighs than a similar H/b . with the same engine??? I dont think its the wheight..
I would stick with the Sol.. Its a great looking car!!! and sure it can be fast!! I just think that there are alot more H/B drivers that think about performance than there are Sol drivers... Most of them I see are into styling and bling bling cars...
