need motor what should I geT?
Well, buring oil badly smoking badly, need a new motor, whats the cheapest motor I can get? I mean will a ex motor bolt right in? what should I geT? and who can do it for me in the md/va area for a reasonable price? I really want a ex motor tho, but if not.... I want something cheaper.
the cheapest motor and easiest to put in would probably be the stock one D15B2. or are you looking for something with a little more power?? if you want a bit more power, think about maybe even a D16A6 (out of an 88-91 Si) or maybe even a ZC, which can be bought for about $500.
just some suggestions.

what year EX? but the cheapest way to go with a little more power than a stock DX would be to get an A6, will bolt right in, very minor wiring, and 15 horses more than the DX
or you could always go the Z6 route, newer engine, VTEC, more power, OBD1 conversion would be best but you could use the RPM activator for VTEC - swap is a direct bolt in - use your D series tranny
ZC, hybrid between all kinds of engines, lack of aftermarket support, many people have had problems, many people say it's the best engine for the price... $600 for an engine the same power as a Z6 with no OBD1 conversion is nice, but if you plan on doing mods - pay the extra for a Z6
D15 JDM VTEC - about $500, similar to the ZC but it has VTEC - http://www.hmotorsonline.com
D15B2 - this is what you have now, slow, slow, slow, but it is the cheapest way to go - you can find these in the middle of the road if you look around, prolly can pick one up for about $100 ... but if your going to do the hassle of a swap, just get the a6
thats about every one of the swap options you have... if your not in that much of a hurry - I recommend the Z6, will give you great reliability, good aftermarket support, good gas milage, will last you for many years, and has a little power to it
