I'd keep it!
As for storage, bump for you. I am sure some guys can shed some light on how to properly store a car.
BTW- Good luck in SEAL training.

my uncle stores cars all the time on a yearly basis, and im positive u be coming back on some days during your leave to the military. so instead of posting my uncle's tip and my tips, the guys on this board have a good set on it already.

4 years is a long time to sit on a car. Your interests/wants/needs may completely change by then.
My practical side says sell it, invest the money and earn interest over 4 years and decide then.
By then you'll have used WRX STis, EVOs, S2000 hardtops and on and on... or, you could have a downpayment on a house.

I don`t know how it is in the states, but in Germany the ITR`s today cost the same like 4 years ago.... And they have triple km on the odo.. I would keep it.
in your situation, i think the value of keeping your R depends on its current condition, even though the chances of it being a collectible is very good in my opinion. i would say keep it if it is a low-mileage original with little or no modifications.
however, i see in your sig that you have a jdm front and some previous damage, which already takes away some value to potential buyers who want a good clean unmodified R without previous accidents. because of those 2 points, i would sell now and get as much as you can while the car is still sought after and the jdm front has still some appeal to most. you can't tell if 4 years from now, with the sti coming and evo already here, people might not pay as much if you decide to sell then when you return... we might even have a dc5-R by then..
otherwise, if you have a close personal tie to your R, which i and many others do no matter what the circumstances, then find someone you trust to take care of her while you are gone...
good luck bro

Sell it for a fair price. Let anotehr person enjoy the feeling of an R oppose to a garage having it for 4 years.
Put the money away. After 4 years you will have enough for a better car or another R.
in 4 years the R's may not be as hot as they are today. Who knows.

i wouldnt sell my car dude. i'm Infantry officer in the army and i can tell you that
1. you might not make it...not to say you wont but it is hard. if it was easy then everyone will be doing it. basic is easy but seal training is not
how do i know? because i trained with buds diving phase
2. remember military want to have a lot of guys sign so they say whatever to get you in....i think that is wrong.
3. if you dont make it. you will do something else. i know they made you pick some job because seals is not 100% sure job. if you do other job, you might be at harbor somewhere and i would sure want my car there.
i was at exact spot about 5 years ago. i was going to be in the navy...hoping to be a seal. few months before i reported to basic i decided not to go because if i dont make it then i dont want to do something in the boat for 4 years that i dont like.
So i decided to go to military college first so that if i dont do something i dont like, at least i get paid real good.
but now i joined army instead and i got to everything seals do and more.
skydiving, diving, ranger school and shooting guns and get paid well....cant beat it.
hope this help a little

well...its kinda strange.
you have
1. basic pay, which is money you will get for your rank and years in service.
2. housing money, money for your house/apartment. if you live in new york..you get paid more then if you live in some country red neck area. that is also depends on your rank.
3. you get food and clothing money. that is also depends on your rank.
with all that i get paid little over 3000 a month, taking out taxes and free life/medical/dental insurance and all other benefits.
one real cool thing is that if you put in 20 years and you retire, you will get 1/2 pay every month.
my boss has retired and he gets over 4,000 a month...doing nothing. you cant beat that
...but he put in more like 26-28 years

i'd sell it if i need the money, if keeping/storing the car won't take a huge financial hit, then keep it. Car scene could be very different in 4 years, and the value of your car will decrease unless its in great condition/low milage
For example. Supras, 4 years later don't have anything to match them. So do 300zx twice that time, 350z is out - has a lot of bling options but its not the same car. On other hand, theres wrx, evo, even neon is trying to move into the scene.
As far as Honda goes: - First del sol, then s2000, there could always be another car from honda. And integra might have new generation in 4 years.. One thing certain lately, consumers get more for their $$$, and almost every car has sporty upgrades - horsepower/handling.

I would sell it since you won't need a car for 4 years and the current DC5R surpasses the DC2R.
Just the money you'd make on the intrest would be better I think
