Default advancing ignition timing

No help found in the integra forum so I'm asking you guys:

car: 98 acura integra LS
OBDII equipped
I am going to advance the timing on my car; will the ecu automatically adjust it back to the original setting? Do I need to "short the ecu?" Thanks.

You need to jump the service connector when taking ignition timing readings or they won't be correct.
