My dash/cluster lights went out on my 95 civic coupe. I checked the 20A fuse for the instrument cluster, license light, and taillights and the 10A Back up. They are both fine. When i pulled out the 10A and put it back in the lights did work, but as soon as i turned on my headlights the instument cluster went out again. I tried taking out the 10a fuse and putting it in again but it didn't work the second time. Anyone have any ideas???

 

ya mine does that when it is cold the gages won't turn on till the car warms up it is strange let your car idle for a minute of two and see if they turn on mine do!

 

nope, that didn't work, cuz after i started the car, i had to drive 45 min to my destination without my guage cluster lights on. Anyone else have ideas?

 

My car is doing the same thing. I'd really like to know the fix for this, road trips reeeally suck when you don't know how fast you're going, and when you're racing at night ya can't see the tach. Although i've "mastered" getting the feel for my car, knowing just when to shift, and how fast i'm going by feel at night...i'm about to swap my engine and need that tach.

 

the only other thing is check all of your fusses and connections just go through your car and check everything!

 

check your bulbs or the dimmer switch

 

Do you have to remove the steering wheel to check/replace the bulbs. And i've noticed that my fuse blows everytime I start the car, but it works fine when the car is off and I swap the fuse?
