Default Autopower install tips

My new rollbar came friday and I just can't get it into my car. I don't remember how I put the first one in but I don't rember it being so hard. The problem is that I can't attatch the legs that go to the fender wall with everything in the car. I also can't get the whole thing in with the lags attatched.

Mine can't be installed the same way. The main hoop has no clearance and is pressed against the roof (my car has a sunroof) so I can't get my side panels back in with the rollbar inside. What's really frustrating is that the first rollbar went in with no problems. This one would work too if the sleeve that the legs slide onto were a bit shorter. Would it be acceptable to cut down the sleeve by a quarter inch or so?
