yesterday, i was cruising down the freeway in the R. i exited and stopped at the light. after that, i couldn't get it into any gears. finally i was able to jam it into 3rd and that's it. i managed to get it home. with the car off, it get's into gears like normal. but when it is on. it is friggin impossible. I haven't driven my car hard for a couple of months already. what could it be? the dealership will probably say i was racing.

 

Yeah they'll probably acuse of it just b/c of the car itself. I would call acura and have tow your car to the dealer just so you dont cause any further damage. I have no idea what it could be.

hm.. I didn't drive my car from Friday until this morning.. the gearing feels a bit funny... but maybe yours doesn't work because your number is 66...

hm.. that's damn scary.. maybe the clutch got jammed? go to dealer and bitch.

 

I just talked to one of the service guys. he said it's unusual with a car with only 9500 miles on it, but he said it sounds like a problem with the hydraulic clutch, since it goes into gear with the engine off. he said just to have it towed to the dealership and we'll go from there. Also, I bought the vehicle from acura Southwest in HOuston, since then, they were bought out by Sterling McCall. I hope i don't get screwed with racing issues or because of their new owner.

Hmm...others have had the same problem. That should make it easier to get repaired under warranty. What warrants for a recall?

 

Hey man, i had the same problem too. .it happen only one time. I was stopped on a hill, and then for some freakin' reason, i couldn' t at all get in to 1st or 2nd gear. I tried my best to get in third and managed to drive my car to the side. I started the car again. And everything was fine. Later, rattling sound from the shifter became frequent. I took the car to the dealer, and they said it was fine! but, on that day, i didn't hear any sound though. However, just yesterday.. these annoying rattling sounds started again. it sounds like something is in the shifter or something... so i plan to take it to the dealer this friday and see what happens...
