Default What will it take to get an Integra Type-R in the 13sec range?

Hey peoples,

Im new to this forum, i have had a glance at a few of the topics posted so far and i am suprised and happy to find that its a pretty technical site... as well as the good old kill stories, hehe.

Ok, so my question is.... What will it take to get an integra type-r in the 13s. (Previous model w/b18c5, not current shape). Stock theyre about a 15sec car (correct?). I DONT want to turbo is, as that is the easy way (as well as cheap, not dollars and cents wise) out. Can there be much done to the b18c5, quad throttle bodies, aggressive cams etc....?
Also, any major differences between the 5 speed and the 6 speed?

Thanks

They'll run mid-high 14's stock. Basic bolt-ons a lots of practice should net you high 13's.

So u say that basic mods like exhaust, headers, cold air intake.... and good driving skills of course, will get me into the high 13s??? Makes me wonder how quick it'll go if u do serious mods such as cams, throttle bodies, valves and the rest

it all depends on whp + driving skill... (there are many topics in archives) you can hit high 13's with mid 170's. for 1/4 mile, turbo is the way to go..

The R is a good all around car, but the quarter is not it's best arena. Try road racing or autocrossing, I am almost sure you will like it more.

- theres no 6 speed ITR's.
- "quad throttle bodies".. i believe you mean independent throttle bodies (ITB). those aren't needed to net 13's, and you'd want to do a LOT more research before you even thinkg of ITB's..its not exactly plug and play.
- bolt-ons and/or slicks = 13's.

Im not a big fan of the straight line 1/4 mile runs(but wouldnt mind know what the cars capable of), but the odd run of the lights and windy roads roads is what im looking for... also something that would beat my friends skyline gts-t which would be a low 14sec car.

Add cams, Pistons, and tuning, you'll be high 12's to mid 13's. At that point, which cams and how you go about tuning it starts to make a much bigger difference.

Thats quite a few mods there, couple major ones too... that must have set u back a bit too.

Dont ITR's wheelspin when u slam it in 2nd anyway?

EDIT: Also what would be the cost of such mods as those quoted above??

Yea, but slamming into gear doesn't make you faster, it just wears on your car.

a final drive would help a lot , like the ATS 4.9 FD
also are you talking 13's on street tires or slicks , which would be a big difference .
