Default What is the cheapest swap I can do?

Ok I know an H22 is the preferred swap for a 4th gen Accord. But it is rather expensive. What is the cheapest swap I can do that will give me more power than my 1990 Accord LX (125hp)?

Also as for JDM spec engines, is it legal to put them in a US car? Has anyone got in trouble for doing this?

you can pull out your engine and put in a hamster or 2 (for more hosepower) let them run in their little wheel.

F22B1, F22B, H23A...

JDM motors are okay to use.

H23 is probably the cheapest route you can go, it will pretty much drop right in plus some wiring and ECU swapage. I would highly recommend saving up for the h22 if you want to have fun though. Then again you could always slap on a turbo kit after you add the H23. The H23 and his buddie "boost" get along quite well. Check on ebay for a good deal on swaps though. The H22's with automatic trannys sell for a lot less and if your stock tranny you're using right now is in decent shape you can just use it and then sell the automatic tranny! Some people frown on the F22 tranny & H22 engine combo cause the gear ratios are so different, but it works and would be fine for dailydriver/streetrace car.

peace out homie

so how much do you think I could buy an H23 for? Is it any easier or harder than the h22 swap? Are the JDM engines not a good idea (such as f20a or f22b)?

These are the prices from your store, Kteller8? How about H22 and F20A prices? They F22B and the H23A do seem awfully similar on paper, but one being a F series and on being an H series there must be some differences?

actually from what i know the f22b dohc is a replacement for the h23. most ppl here in town replace the h23 with that unless they go h22.

h22 are more of course like
h22 swap 2400 full swap, tranny and ecu

lot of places might be cheaper, but i can offer a 6 month full warrenty! and prices are shipping. if you want a ton more info email me.

there is a place in gardena CA that host some, they are start up warrenty and as is.. but alot cheaper. if you want to head there, i am sure i could hook you up with a better deal.

Look around your local junkyards and area for motors...I paid 1200 for my full H23 swap in my 4th gen accord, my buddy priced out an H22 for his 4th gen 'lude for 1750 for full swap, and another friend got a JDM H22a swap for 2300 total...if you look hard enough, you'll find better prices.
