No HPDE at HypeRfest at Summit Point July 5th-6th?
***No HPDE/Time Trial during HyperRfest at Summit Point/Jefferson Circuit July 5th-6th.***
I just emailed Elyse about them doing another $99 per day HPDE/Time Trial on Jefferson Circuit during the HypeRfest. Right now she said there were NO plans on doing this again this year. But, If we can get enough people interested they may reconsider.
Just a recap from last year, we got tons of track time (about 2hrs each day) and a 2 lap Time Trial (for cool prizes) at the end of each day. I only attended Sunday but it was a blast and would do both days if they extended the offer this year.

I think you're overestimating the track time you had. Four rungroups x 2hrs + time trial + 1hr lunch = way more time than we spent there. I was there both days last year, but probably wouldn't go back.

OK, so maybe not 2hrs but a good amount for $99.

Just got this email back from Chris (NASA director):

The Tuner Time trial will be open to all people wanting to do a Time Trial. It will be done on the main track and will require a transponder. (Rentals available). Only HPDE 2(solo) level or higher drivers can participate though. We are contemplating running an HPDE on the Jeff Circuit on Saturday and a Drifting School on Sunday.
Watch the site for updates.
Thanks,

just saw this thread.
I would definately like to drive JC at hyperfest again. I was just thinking about how there arent any events there this year, and I love that little track for some reason.

I'm all over that, I was going to Hyperfest for the regular $40 20-minute sessions, but an HPDE, especially a $99 one is more like it. If another vote is needed, put my name down. Anyone know the length of the Jefferson Circuit? I just want to compare it to the main circuit there and to Beaverun. And no Shenandoah I guess?
It was designed as a training track. So even though it is 1.1 miles, it has a great variety of types of corners, all challenging, which you will learn a lot from every one of them.

Its a slower track without a big straight.... easier for lower HP cars to roll a hype arrrrr

has anyone done the $40 'HyperDrives' before? what are they like? i expect the $40 only gets you like one session or so heh.

Last year at Summit the Summit Point Instructors (not NASA instructors) were doing the Hyper-Drives.
$40 gets you one session. My suggestion would be to find an instructor you know that way you can have some fun on track since they already know you are experienced rather than a ricer looking to c4rV3 s0m3 tw1styz

Bring it - i've got between now and then to get the car sorted out, i've got no other track events that i'm running until June. Car will be cornerweighted, have a proper alignment, and be packing about 15-20 more HP than it is now.
Time trial here i come.

Hahaha... not really. I was thoroughly impressed with the hype-arrs in stock form on falken tires with intermediate level drivers - i was still faster in most parts of the track (exceptions being between 7 and 10 and between 11 and 1) than them. If i wasnt, then i wuold just suck *** with kumhos and a half decent suspension.
The instructors driving arrs were noticeably faster

The $40 thing was good for a first time, I did it last year. One 20 minute session, when I was there there weren't too many cars on the track so nobody was really getting held up in corners. Jefferson sounds like fun, and just gives me more reason to get some better brake pads, I was getting a mushy pedal on Sunday at the Expo (already have ATE Superblue).
