Looking for stock LS dyno graphs.. what's the average WHP?
Hey guys.. i'll probably be dyno'ing my car at the expo, I just wanted to see what kind of numbers a STOCK LS motor puts down at the wheels..
yeah I know they'll be low but I just want to see what I SHOULD anticipate and what I SHOULDN'T hope for.
thanks!

what have ya'll put on the slips on the 1/4 mile?? i've always wondered. i've been too chicken **** to go and get my own slips cause i know i am pretty slow. i've only got comptech icebox, ITR axleback, and skunk2 short shifter

I ran 15.1@91 with my 94 LS with only a apexi WS catback.
I recently dynoed at 129whp/124tq with I/E/Test pipe, and the dyno seemed to be reading low
there was an LS vtec there with skunk 2 manifold, and lots of boltons making 159whp, and I made more torque

What Intake and exhaust are you using to gain about 19hp over stock,
115hp to 129hp with I+E is 'unbelievably' high gain.
15.1 1/4 mile, It was a cold night right!

My LS with I/H/E dyno'ed at 126.4 whp and 116.7 wtq, on a hot day at 5000ft elevation, and that's with an upper-mid range powerband. If I went with more of a top end powerband (ie 1/4 mile setup), my whp would have been higher.
So, I think it's entirely possible to get 129 whp with an a good I/E that adds power to the upper rpms. 15.1 as a 1/4 mile time does sound a little too good to be true, but it's not impossible. My LS can hang with my friend's car that ran 15.5 at a low elevation, and once again, mine is hardly a 1/4 mile setup. After 1st gear, I'm not in my powerband at all. If it were setup to make it's peak power at drag race rpms, it'd be much faster.
I think too many people just slap together "performance" parts and think their results are the best that can be accomplished with that type of mods. Then when someone claims to have done better than them, it's automatically labelled "BS". If you actually pick a target powerband and choose mods that add power there, you'll get much better results. If you want good 1/4 mile time and high HP numbers, go with a high rpm powerband. Or if you want to do what the car is actually good at (ie corners), then an upper-mid range powerband is ideal.

15.1@91 with those mods on an LS ? Unlikely.... At Moroso... even more unlikely...hahaha...
129whp/124tq ? What's that smell ??
Typical LS will put down 107-118hp and 100-110tq stock at sea level.

those #'s were from the H-T dyno day at cartek-tuning, im not bullshitting. and im not bullshitting about the track times either.

With JUST those mods ? No cams, nothing ? That just don't sound right... not even for a 'freak'/Wednesday motor. I mean, an LS than runs a 15.1 @ 91 is on par with a GSR. I have a freak car too... 15.3 sohc, 2 mods.
I'm still skeptic... roll down to Miami... we'll run it... lol

You guys are all forgetting a VERY important factor.
Not all Dyno's output the SAME numbers!! Some dyno's such as the Mustang Dyno outputs more power than a Dynojet would.
So it's possible with different types of Dyno's.

it could happen completely stripped and on slicks, if it was cold enough.

just those mods, anyone who was at the dyno day can tell you that. truthfully, I HAVE beaten GSR's and SI's, my interior is gutted as well. my motor puts out 200psi across the boards when i did a compression test, which is alot better than what a stock LS should be.

I haven't been up there for months... prolly won't anytime soon either.
Still don't buy the faster than a gsr tho... unless you have other work done that you're not tellin'.

Stock GS-R's output around 145wHP, has better gear ratios and has a much better Top end compared to an LS.
So how would an LS that outputs 129wHP beat GS-R's?? Easy answer.... Driver.

Driver... if it's outta the hole, sure... on a roll, even with an avg. driver... a GSR will pull on a bolt on LS easily. Seen it MANY times.
