Default anyone heard of Proac'tive coilovers? are these springs ok for autox with koni yellow?

I wanted to know what the springs rates are for a delsol.

I was just pushing down on the rear of my car with these coilover springs, and the car goes down quite a bit. Mine goes down maybe .5-.75 of an inch when i lean my weight on it with some force. I have stock shocks right now.

I'm slowly entering the autox scene and want to know how much your car goes down when you push on the rear. is the height that changes when you push on your car affected more by spring rate or shock stiffness? cause im gonna buy some koni yellows in the future and want to know if these springs are ok to use with them.

Stiff shocks and soft springs bad combination for autox?

sorry for the length

thanks

when you push down on the car, the car moves..... what a novel idea?

i really dont know what the question is, but i think the answer is shitcan the cheapo coilovers and buy some GC sleeves and real shocks (Konis, AGX's, etc).

I think the question is: What determines compression under load?

When you push down on the car, primarily, the springs and swaybar(s). When you corner, the first instant of compression is controlled by the shocks, while the springs try and counteract the load by pushing back.

not really.

springs will control the amount of body roll.

dampers will control the rate of that roll.

I dont see where "not really" comes into play. You just summed up what I said.

EDIT: ...and made it easier to understand.

well...these coilovers were pretty expensive. I bought them for about 280 or so. It has a spring loaded ball that clicks everytime you turn once...so its very convenient...anyways

i think my questions is, if any of you autox'rs were to have your stock shocks back in with your current springs...would pushing on the car bring it down some like mine? or mine are just too soft?

and what is more important...shocks or spring rates?

shocks and springs are both important but if you have to choose one shocks will always be the first chosen.

as far as pushing on the car, its such a subjective thing. I have 600# springs on my integra and i can push the bumper down when i push on it. Its certainly nothing to worry about - on track performance is more important.

I think the simplest (but not best) explanation I can think of is: Springs control body roll, shocks control the springs.

If you want to autox sell those. They might not even be better than some stock springs.(ITR)

welp...good to get some answers.

I'm thinking, if they're a little soft for autx, ill just put some good sway bars on it and it will be a nice autox/street combo.

thanks for the help guys

regardless of what you do with your swaybars you are going to need a good adjustable shock otherwise the car is going to handle like crap and be way too bouncy on the street.

Barring huge potholes and speedbumps, 450/600# springs on my integra is daily driveable. Without koni's the ride would certainly be shitty.

thanks for looking out for me...koni yellows are my next mod...waiting around for some good deals or something.

Yeah, right now its kinda bouncy, the lower the worse, so im lowering just about 1.5 or so...

I was close to getting AGX, but after the solo2 event...koni was all i hear about.
