RollBar /Cage -- What kind do you have?
What kind of rollbar or rollcage does everyone have? I'm looking at the 4 point autopower, but it seems like the tubes are kind of small....
Anything better than autopower in the same price range?

All autopower cages will have the correct tubing size for the weight of the vehicle they are built for as specified in the SCCA GCR.
Autopower rollbars are a great cost-effective option for a track car. For a full race car, go with a custom cage.

I like the design of the Kirk better...the rear points bolt to the frame on either side of the spare tire well as opposed to on top of the wheel wells. It cost me $315 plus $60 shipping. Good quality and they have excellent customer service - they will make minor adjustments to suit your specific application if necessary (ie, I had mine made slightly taller since I have no headliner).

The Autopower bolt in cages mount to the sheet metal on the wheel well, NOT the shock tower. When my car is no longer a daily driver, I'll definitely step up to a custom cage. But until then, I think a bolt-in application makes the most sense.

Bob...it actually mounts to the wheel well where the factory has added in additional reinforcement, it's a unibody car, thus does not have a frame per se.

Jason,
If you haven't selected a cage builder yet, you ought to give Sam Neave a call. (336) 824-1605. Custom, 8 points, NASCAR door etc. for $1,200 - 1,400. He's built a ton of IT cages..and my pimpin' roll bar...

Austin...I've seen where it mounts. Unibody or not, I'd much rather bolt my rollbar to a huge hunk of steel (Kirk) than the wheel well (Autopower).
I suppose it depends on personal preference, and in my case that's Kirk. Some people like to keep the rear seats in the car (Autopower), although it isn't SAFE for passengers to be back there with a rollbar installed anyway.

Depends on the cage... Most Autopower ones can....but it's a death trap back there for the occupants....
