anyone running without a front crossmember?
just wondering if this is really a bad idea, it can't be that bad since eg's have none and b series swaps dont use the front tranny mount anyways, well im just wondering, cause it looks like theres no way for me to create a downpipe for my 14b turbo project without taking it out.
You have to have the crossmember to keep the front suspension in place... the wheels would flex foreward and backward so badly, your car would stop moving from rubbing the inside of the fenders...

Newer Civic's don't need a crossmember because the design of their suspension is different than the ED Chassis. The newer Civic's STILL add a crossmember with traction bars to improve the flimsy design... Think about it.
Been there, done that. It causes the crossmember to flex badly and the wheels will flex with the crossmember.
You can beat the shinola out of it, but DO NOT cut it. It kills the structural stability of it.
If you need a smaller/thinner crossmember, get a JimFab or Z-10.

The radius rods connect onto the front crossmember on the ef's. On the EG's, there is no crossmember and they have a different type setup that connects to the lower control arm and the front subframe. There is absolutely no way you can run an EF with out your cross member. And remember, if you cut away at it, re-inforce it to keep it strong. You will loose traction with that crossmember flexing.....wheel hop. I hacked mine to fit my turbo and all, but then I welded a bar straight accross it to re-inforce it.
