ya it is aligned, i have still been trying to be patient with the damn thing, but no luck. I am gonna take it to my friends down at city garage, yes I gave up. I would rather it be done right than **** my baby up, which it already is.
i hate those small frustrating things - it took me freaking two days to get the AC control out of my car then about 4 hours to fix the lights inside - cut the **** out of my fingers
your antenna wont go down b/c more than likely the antenna mast is broken. mine is the same way. I just leave it like it is.
If your antenna won't go down but you can still hear the motor working then all you need to do is replace the antenna mast. It might be because the mast is either too dirty or bent a little. There is no need to remove the whole motor just to replace the mast. Go to an Acura dealer and purchase the mast, then take a look at where your antenna comes out when it was working. You will notice a round silver metal thing at the base. It has two notch on it. Take a plier and twist it off like a screw. Then using all your might pull the hell out of the mast and it shoulds come out accompanying with about one foot of white plastic ridges. Turn on your radio and place the new mast with the white ridges going in first. Turn off your radio and if the motor catches the ridges, your antenna should start lowering.
ive done this before too but i wouldnt recommend it because you could damage the motor gear teeth. instead, just turn the radio on and it should reel out.

Good point Tilt
How down did you push it? I don't believe you can push the mast beyond the round metal tab (#10) because on the tip of the mast (#9) there's a round top thats too big to fit through it. If you still see the tip of the mast then have someone turn on the radio at the sametime you pull the mast out with a plier.
