A shop offered me a DOHC ZC engine and install and some misc. parts for about $1500 for my 90 civic SI....Is that a good normal price??

Just do it yourself, its pretty straight forward.

 

on an si, if I would do it yourself... and if you don't want to, $1500 sounds a little pricey - but it depends on what they include

 

actually it doesn't include a trany!...they said they'll use me SI trany on the zc!

 

damm it if you were im Ohio i'll would do it for 350$. you put the motor.
that 1500$ sounds about right for a shop, if you get the motor with the deal!

 

u can get the motor alone for $500-700. And all your getting is long block,misc parts(which you dont kno what it is. might be an intake)$1500 thats too pricey.i say find someone around your area and pay them $300-$400.

 

Yeah... $1500 is pretty dang high for such an easy swap.. especially since your car is an Si.
