the EL's are bad... if you're looking at the tubes, forget it

err correction, i ment to say the EL's aren't that bad... and the only good thing about the bazooka tubes... if you do get a tube, rip the bazooka sub out and throw in a JL, Vega, etc, etc. The enclosures are awsome, but they put a peice of crap sub in them

http://www.returnbuy.com

check it out, they have a lot of deals on barely used merchandise(stuff that's used a day and then returned-duh), last december they were offering insane deals on these subs, $10/sub for 12inch free shipping and 1 year service warrenty. Also they had the El1500 mono sub for $60, Now circuit city has this stuff cheap but it was dirt cheap. I put them in my 95 integra and just patched into the rear speakers and kept the stock cassette w/6 disc changer.

I looked at it this way, i'm a car audio newbie, I didn't want to spend $500 on an alpine v-12 amp or another $300 on speakers/subs(kickers) then another $500 on a new headunit. Sure the car can bump, but it'll sound terrible if I do- I need to get a head unit, if you're looking for that little extra at the bottom end to just feel like you're right in the middle of the band performing - feeling the bass guitar strings plucked is all I wanted

don't look at the tubes..look at the component subs. IMO..MUCH MUCH better. goes lower than the tube (bazooka setted their subsonic filter at 39hz for the active tube)

i've got a Bazooka, I love it sounds great! Sounds better than some people that have two 12" subs with boxes. And get this, I'm only using a 70 w amp to drive it. Just imagine if I actually used a more powerful amp.

No kidding, I've heard some loud deep bass come from those tubes with low power. However, like stated earlier, with a different sub in there.

well i dont have experience with their subs, but i think their amps are crap. i just returned my EL600w to Circuit City cause it kept overheating and cutting out on me. the subs might be okay, but from my experience, i just dont like Bazooka all together and advise anyone i can to not go with them.

Just one more thing to add, if you do decide to get a Bazooka, get one without the amp, I hear those really suck.

Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. And as far as I'm concerned they are decent subs, not the best but decent. Other people swear on JLs or Rockford or whatever. For the type of music I listen to they work just fine, and I like how they sound.
