Whats the difference between a Wideband & Narrowband o2 sensor voltages?
a bud of mine was doing some tuning with his hondata (not using the autotuning) with a wideband o2 sensor, control box, & display. he unplugged & unscrewed the narrowband o2 sensor, & plugged in & installed the wb sensor to the harness that connects back to the ecu. & everythign ran fine.
to me, this says that they both put out the same voltages, but the wideband is just a lot more precise.
so i just want to rig up another bung on the downpipe with a wideband o2, then just run a standalone a/f gauge off of that?

How did a 5-wire WBO connector plug into a 4-wire harness? WBO will put out different voltages completely, will need a controller to operate it properly/safely, and will not work with any aftermarket AFR guage to my knowledge.
either he has some super gauge that lets you use both or he wasnt using a WB sensor......like I said earlier, it simply wont work with out a controller designed to run it.......
wideband is simply a civic VX NTK sensor...it cannot plug into a 4wire plug..u cannot run it back to your 4wire O2's ECu, and if you do itll give the same readings, wideband ranges from 0 basically to 5volts, and narrowband is like , well i dont know..
but he shouldve left his stock O2 in and then tuned separately with the wideband and his hondata... u can put another bung in the header, or downpipe, but its not good to constantly keep the wideband sensor in as they have a shorter life...

hi guys i am looking for help to identify wideband and narrowband o2 sensor whats the physical difference or they have searil or code differences plz help me out

you can't just buy a wideband o2 sensor and expect it to work, you need a controller and some way to free air calibrate the sensor.
