Some questions on front forks for 81 CB400T?

Some questions on front forks for 81 CB400T?
I have been trying to find out the proper air pressure for my forks on an 81 CB400T. I finally got some answer from a local dealer and when I went to pump them up the air wouldn't hold for long. I couldn't hear any escaping air swo I am kinda puzzled?
Also, does anyone know if the forks off an 81 CM 400t will work on the CB? They look a little shorter but with the smaller CM tire as well, would it work?
