Eastcoast Solo II people.......no more Griffiss
I just went to my first monthly regonial SCCA meeting and was informed that we lost the site at Griffiss this year. No one knows really why. Tons of rumors floating around supposively.
Anyone else hear of this? I wonder where the Nat'l stops will be now. This sucks!!

I put something up on this a few weeks ago. Real old news. Already a replacement National Tour scheduled the same weekend at Fed Ex Field in Landover, Maryland outside of DC.
The reason for Griffis going away I believe is twofold. One is that the airfield is being used a major supply point for the Iraq War, the other is that a potentially major tenant is looking to move onto the site, and the local development corporation decided that having cars running around cones most every weekend was not compatible with a large company or their agents doing due diligence activities on the property.

Yo goombah!!!!!
As in like checkin' out da neighborhood.......I was just saying it schmancy.
At the day job we were chasing (and didn't get) a large hangar project, which I believe was (is) to be located somewhere close or on the apron where we were hoping to play. Construction scheduled to start this summer. Once that is built, the taxiways we have been running on become active once again. Sayonara Solo II site for good.
