I went to the track last night and could not get the bitch in gear after a run. This morning I checked out the tranny cause it looked like it was leaking and find this:





Anyone ever seen this happen before? Also anyone get a tranny for sale

Not sure about the power, since I have never had it dynoed before. I am senior here at UF. All I know is wheel hop sucks, I was getting crazy wheel hop last night. Also my driver side axle was click bad to

 

yeah my boy ran his integra at the event on sunday went up 7000 on slicks and ripped the whole shift linkage off the tranny.

 

i saw that i think. was it the black one that dumped a puddle on the starting line?

you guys had a hatch drag car too right? if so, it was looking good forgot what it ran though.

Nope I was in a yellow hatchback.

yup that was us.

 

Your tranny puked the diff pin. Pull it apart and check out the internal damage. If you're lucky, you'll just have to weld the case up and replace the differential.

 

Might as well get the LSD

 

well at least you did the job right and broke through the tranny case so you can really tell what happened. also how are your axles??

 

Diff broke, shattered inside the tranny and blew a hole in the casing. You might as well get a new tranny. Most likely more than a diff got damaged.

I have a slightly used oem differential I can sell you if you need one.

 

i have teh same , oem differential , 12k on it 4sale

 

I think he needs more than a diff at this point. He needs a casing, diff, and possibley some gears and synchros. I would just get a new tranny and put a quaife in it to make sure this would not happen again.

Yea at this point I am looking for a brand new tranny. Its going to be easier to just slap another tranny on anyways since I can do the labor. I was thinking of using a GS-R tranny if I can find one at a decent price. Would I have to get a new pressure plate and disc if I use the GS-R tranny?

 

All B series clutches/flywheels are pretty much universal when it comes to an aftermarket part. Just slap on any b series tranny and you will be aight.

Cool, thats what I figured. I was only concerned because ACT list differently gsr and ls clutch kits. But i failed to check part numbers could have been the same.

Damnit i was almost gonna be proud until i heard about your "wheel hop" ..... I wanna see snapped axles in 3rd gear... car slamms in to the wall damage

get a gsr or b16 tranny

 

here is what i did to my 1st type r tranny at about 450whp.

well my question is....would a LSD prevent these kind of problems...i've getting ready to run my car with about 350whp and some 24.5x8x13......if so, i will put an LSD b4 i run it...

 

the type r tranny comes with an lsd.
