Is The VTEC Activation Wire a Ground, or a Positive????
ok, the single wire plug on a d15b, for the vtec, should it be grounded, or a +??? i need to know cause i have to ghetto rig my vtec for now, also, on the "power" plug, with 2 wires, the black is ground, and the other (maybe blue) is +, right?? thanks!!

power plug is red and is positive.. connect that to a power source (i.e. battery). black wire is ground, meaning it needs to connect to metal (wrap it around a bolt, anything metal.. if paint is on the bolt, you can scratch it off). as for the whole vtec thing i dont know.

The VTEC solenoid wire is a 12v+ output which gets a signal when the ECU reaches the designated rpm at which VTEC is activated. I believe it is a Green/yellow wire and it should go to one of the plugs on your ECU. As for the VTEC oil pressure switch (the green plug with the blue wire and black wire). The blue wire is also a signal that goes to the ECU which reads the oil pressure of the VTEC solenoid, if it is too low it will not engage. The black wire is a ground, you can ground it somewhere in the engine bay (I always ground it along with the other ground wires that go to the thermostat housing). I am not sure what year your car is, or I could tell you exactly where to put the VTEC solenoid and oil pressure sending wires for your ECU plugs.
