My Friend has a 90 Civic hb dx and I pulled his tranny out and everything seems to move around a bunch, is this normal? The reason we pulled it out in the first place was because it wouldn't go into gear at all for some reason and we had just driven it the night before and it was fine. And the bracket where the cable is connected to the tranny at is all bent out toward the front of the car ( weird) I was thinking maybe it was the throw out bearing or just the clutch but I'm not a tranny person, just motor. So if someone could help me out with this tranny problem that would be awesome.

 

ummm can you be more descriptive or show us some pics. i'm kinda confused...

 

before taking down the tranny, did you try to adjust the cable to see if that would fix the problem.
the forks do bend, post a pic of it
