Well I went to the ref, because of a stupid *** ebay intake. The cop pulled my ex-girlfriend over for the intake saying it's "illegal." Well I got an aem with a carb sticker on it. The car failed because of a stupid pvc or pcv hose (the hose that goes from the intake to the vavle cover.) The car passed pretty much everything accept that. Now i have to go back because of some stupid hose. I went to pep boys, but that didn't know **** about a pcv hose. Now I'm here. Can you guys please help. What type of hose do I need??? Thanks

 

get 2 valve pan breathers
i'll take a pic in the morning. they're like 1.5" mini-filters.

 

go to any aut place, and cut a piece of hose that is the correct diameter. They should have a lot of sizes, and you can cut what you need. Ryan

PS, are you in cali? Where are you located? Does your car look riced out? I was asking because of the hood inspection. Also, was it on the highway?

 

don't be mad at the ref, he's doing his job making sure things are LEGAL
but since you have an AEM intake didn't it come with hoses and claps?

 

well i bought it used, and the guy gave me a "radiator hose." the car has a cwest bumper, but i'm putting back to stock. what is a aut place. plus what kind of hose do i need to get? what is the pvc or pcv? are the mini filters illegal? thanks for the help guys!!

the mini breathers are illegal.

but just get any black hose and cut the length you need and get 2 clamps.

 

$1.25 worth in rubber hose and your set!

info like this will make your next trip hell! just goto auto zone and get some of the pcv hose from the back.

not only they are ilgeal , they actually take power off ur car... an inline filter will work better.... or a oil catch-can. but remember that theres PCV for a reason

when visiting the smog ref, could you of put the stock intake back on??

 

i don't think so, because my friend got a $500 ticket for it. if it passes smog, then we can argue in court. if we put the stock one on, there's no way we can argue the case.

 

i got a question........how do you own a gsr swapped 4th gen and say you are an import builder and you dont know what a pcv valve is?
just curious...

well i found out the problem. the hose that i had that connects from the intake to the engine was a heater hose, thus a hose that collapses and is illegal. someone guy from kragen really helped me out. he told me to use a oil hose 1/2 inch. the hose is really stiff and won't collapse under high temperatures.
