JDM TYPE R gauges into a 2000 Type R WILL NOT WORK - or do they?

JDM TYPE R gauges into a 2000 Type R WILL NOT WORK - or do they?
So this has been my experience. No factory acura gauges work in the 2000 type r.
Well, they work but the gas gauge goes to zero and the temp go straight to hot. All other items work.
I know this is mearly a simple wiring change..... BUT WHY DID honda do this?
Also if you have awapped gauges and know the changes need to be made please let me know. I was planning on throwing them in before the expo!!!

And you may also have to swap the Icon panels. Even if you do the Gauge Swap.

what "green mapping" and "icon panels" are you referring to?

Green Mapping = Flexible circuit board on back
Icon Panels = Front overlay with the icons on it (oil icon, CEL icon, etc.)
