Default J-spec headlamp conversion question.

I heard the lights on the left hand side have a different/brighter dispersion pattern than the right hand side. The US lights are supposed to be the opposite with the right side being brighter and that using lights from a RHD car will be pretty annoying to oncoming traffic, i.e. blinding. Is this true? I'd rather have the brighter side infront of me.

And are the 98R+ HIDs worth the extra grand or so? Can you put an aftermarket one like a Philips HID kit in the 96spec R lamps and not have to worry about the headlamps melting?

You can put Philips HID into the 96specR lamps, but if it's only an extra few $$, I suggest get the OEM.

I doubt it would melt your housings since it uses less wattage than halogen bulbs.
