whats the whole point of racing seats?
some people are more comfortable with the increased bolstering, shoulder support and lumbar support. don't forget shoulder support during cornering. a lotta the time they're just used by stunnaz all crooked back.

some are light as hell......they also get good points in show cars..but there mainly to keep your *** in the seat going around corners or flipping you car or anyother type of crashing.

over 1000 posts, and you can't figure out that racing seats are for racing
How's about the same thing a cf hood is for (for people who race) --> cutting weight. A couple race buckets can cut 50 lbs off the car.

95% of this board actually buys CF hoods, seats, and expensive suspension kits....... just for the bling effect.. i know it sounds stupid, but its true.. so i dont see anything wrong with him assuming race seats are for show, if this board is the only place hes getting his info.. know what i mean?

i'm getting 2 racing seats soon, in bride zeta for me, and a bride brix for passenger, if you got the cash get those, also a non-reclinable seat is better for fitment than a reclinable one.

damn chris, so many question, ur a curious lil one aren't u? haha. race seats are for lightwieght, siting lower, use of harness, and holding you when hard cornoring, u don't fly around like in ur stock seats.
yes it matters what brand, those R1 give you crap support, they fade, and the fabric is crap. oh yea, and it says R1 on it!
R1
Tenzo
Obx
Nakayami
APC
if you want true racing seats you need to get bucket seats, the reclinables do give you a lil more support but for real support you need some non-reclinable buckets.

i'll say it and i'll say it again. STAY AWAY FROM NO NAME "RACING" SEATS.
companies like Tenzo, R1, OBX etc all make seats for bling ricers. as a result, they come in all sorts of loud colors and fabrics...but all of them lack FIA approval.
see how you feel about a cheap crappy seat when you get into an accident and the rails bend on you. or when a shard of metal breaks off and impales you.
if you cant afford a race seat that is FIA approved, then PLEASE just stay with stock because they have been crash tested and will withstand impact.
while we're at it, ricers need to stop bolting harnesses down incorrectly. attach it to a rollcage and only use it for track events... its not cool to have a harness on the street, flip your car and either:
1)have it pop off on you because you didnt mount it securely, or
2)hold you so securely in place that you have no lateral movement to avoid a roof that is crushing in on you because you didnt have a rollcage to support it.
if you are auto-x'ing then attaching a harness to a cpillar bar is fine since its so unlikely you'll flip your car. but do NOT use harnesses on the street - especially if they are ricer harnesses or are not used with a rollcage.
i'm sorry, but i feel very strongly about this stuff. if you want to rock altezzas, fine. you're not putting your life in danger (in most cases). but cheap seats/cheap harnesses/improper installs are putting your life in danger. its just not worth it.

Well I'm Filipino and I'm only 5'7" so I would get bride seats. They are menat (deisgned) for smaller people ~5'8" so i would get those vise ones meant for taller people. That is just me though.
