the search is down - AEM Break Pads - PLEASE HELP
How are they comparing to Hawk HP Plus, Porterfield R4s, or other brand name? I need them for this up coming track school. Anyone has any experience with these? What would you recommend? I am running with stock rotors and want those that do not eat the rotors for lunch.
Thanks
Thanks
AEM pads=oem nissin pads. To sum it up, they suck a fat one, they start to fade fast in hot weather and they don't hold up too good. Good pad for street and cruising, other than that definately not a good set of pads for racing, autox, etc.
AEM pads will not be up to track use.
Try Ferodo DS3000, Carbotech Panther Plus, Cobalt GT-R pads will all work fine for you.

If you are a novice, pretty much any pad will be fine, except for maybe stock.
AEM pads do have a bit higher heat range than stock. They are made by Nissin, but are definitely NOT the same compound(trust me, I've driven on them).
I'd say an Intermediate driver or above could fade them in about 15-20 minutes on the track though.
BTW - one thing I don't miss about my old Integra was how underbraked that thing was. Rotors would get scorching from just a few spirited stops. 12.5" rotors out back!
