Default Where can I get an engine for my accord???

Okay, I live in Montucky *montana* and I am researching puttin an engine into my 91 accord.

1. what model is the engine? an f22a?
2. where can I get another engine?
3. should I just go for an h22a and if so besides the engine/trani what would I need to finish the job right?

Thanks for all your answers. I really appreciate it.

if yor car is an EX, you have the F22a4, DX/LX have the F22a1. If you need to replace the engine, and you have the money, you can get a low-milage used JDM H22+tranny and ECU for around $2500-3500 if you swap transmissions, you will need axles, and there are probably a few other items you would need to do the swap which are relatively minor in cost. you DO NOT have to swap the H22 transmission with the H22 if you dont want to, although it will be faster if you do. you will most likely need a new clutch for either setup that you choose. and you definetly want a 5spd if you are swapping the engine. so if the engine that you got was an auot, you might want a new flywheel

EDIT: oh yeah and there is a search feature in the top right hand corner of the screen, everything you asked has probably already been covered

smaller displacement = less horsepower stock correct? though with the stock engines there really wasn't much to begin with anyways.

I would love to do the h22a, simply because 1 other person has done it up here and thats it. But it also depends on finances

not always look at f22 vs f23 and h22 vs h23

H22 is a higher output engine than the H23, but is there something I don't know about the F22? Last I checked, the F23 was the winner there (not much difference, but still more powerful).
