Default Rear Sway bar

I have a del Sol with ITR rear lower control arms. What is a good sway bar to put on there (other then a stock ITR sway bar) I wanted to go with progress's but I called them up, they said that none of there bars would fit it, I would have to get one for the ITR instead of the Sol or an EG. What are some other good sway bars that are semi decent in price?

What's wrong with the stock ITR sway, or the 23mm JDM ITR sway?

something close but 370 is a little more then I want to spend. If I am going to spend that kind of money, I will buy the comptech rear tie/sway bar combo.

JDM TypeR bar from http://www.passwordjdm.com is about as cheap as you can get.

If I was you I wouldn't go with a bar bigger than 22mm. Depending on your spring rates and suspension setup a larger bar will upset the balance of the car. Also the rear bar should be a match for the front bar (not necessarilly the same size.)

Is your front bar stock... if so getting a large rear bar could also change the balance of the car. The sway bar should just be used to reduce the car's roll. If you are using the sway bar to produce more oversteer you are using it for the wrong purpose.

My roommate has a del sol with a 22mm progress bar, tokiko shocks, neuspeed race springs... the car rotates very nicely and body roll is very minimal.

Since the archive search is down I cant say to search.. but in the autox and road race forum there is a lot of good info on how to PROPPERLY set up a suspension.

Good luck to you with your setup

Well I have Tein HA's with 8kg/mm front 6 rear, and soon to have front and rear Strut Bar. For wheels (goes along with suspension) I have 15x6.5 Rota circuit 8's (could not afford the Mugens ) with brigestone potenza S03 pole position tires (they are stick as all hell) My main goal is to have a car that will get 1.0+ G's of lateral accelation. A few people told me that alot of AutoXers only run rear sway bars, they use the understeer to there advantage.

Get some 10K springs for the rear instead of a thicker rear bar - cheaper and better.

Is the 23mm JDM bar too thick for my 95' LS? With the BSQ kit of course. Or should I just settle with the 22mm USDM bar.

Why do you think you need a bar bigger than 22mm or 23mm when you haven't even made the jump to R-compounds yet. Going to have a tough time keeping the *** of your car inline with a huge bar and street tires.

they are 195/50WR15 and I think they are incredibly sticky for a street tire. So you think that 22-23 is all that I need?

Nope, I am from michigan which = roads from Hell. 10kg springs would brake my back.

No, either will be very good. But I would do GSR/ITR front sway to match the 22mm or 23mm rear sway bar.

Exactly! You have to match the front bar to the rear. If you do the JDM 23 then do the JDM front 25... if you do the USDM 22 do the USDM front 24...

Honda balanced the car pretty perfectly front the factory. In a del sol with a bar bigger than 22 the oversteer you would see would make your car SLOWER by a ways I would guess. What you want for a high lateral acceleration number is a car that is very nuetral... on the limit slight understeer, for FF. Atleast in my opinion.

I like a car that oversteers but it isnt the fastest way around a corner. My roommates del sol with the rear 22mm sway oversteers more than my nearly nuetral ITR. He is slower in some situations because of that.

JDM 23mm!!!

Any bigger will cause conflicts with other future suspension peices.

You do not want a "huge" swaybar in the rear. The 23mm combined with an 8kg or 10kg spring rate is one of the best setups for the rear.
